[Opening Eyes..]
1990's = animation. old people are fixated to it and they cannot move-on. drawing-pencils-sharpeners-papers-Dinosaur computers-etc. (close-gate). we need to deal with it.
2013 = welcome to the new age.. CGI ANIMATION spreading the entire globe, technology already evolved. "Beware The Batman" already stepping-Up to a new era for today's children sake. move forward, don't let yourself staying in backward.
essentials > CHILDREN's Present and FUTURE, past where they learned from it.. evolution happens same as to this CGI animation.
The CGI is sub par to other shows on right now. How to Train Your Dragon has better CGI than this. There it isn't so stiff and the story is actually engaging.
And other thing 2D animation is an art form by it self and I think it's disgraceful that you think it's 'old'. Let's not forget another new show CN added recently was Teen Titans Go, a 2D animation. In fact CN has more 2D shows that CGI. The most popular animated show here in the west right now is probably Legend of Korra, a 2D animated show.
Techically you're both wrong. Young Justice and Green Lantern weren't taken off to be replaced by these shows. They were both taken off becuase Cartoon Network wasn't making the kind of profit they wanted from merchaindise sales.
If both shows had high sales for toy and other such items then we would have a two hour DC nation right now.
Also animation stlye has nothing to with whether or not one show replaces another, that's probably the lowest factor.
People's main argument against this show is the CGI; they subconsciously make themselves believe that CGI equals a terrible show. CGI gives it more of a cinematic feel and if they were to polish is up a bit more, than yeah this show would be great.
Its so disheartening to see so much hate coming this this; even on its own wiki.
I agree with Regular Guy. The CGI could have added to the show but for me it just takes away. I think a big reason why Cartoon Network still uses this kind of animation is because of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Star Wars was one of the most successful series CN had, until Disney bought lucasfilm. So even though this same style was not well received in GL:TAS they still use it.
